21 Beautiful Baby Girl Room Ideas That Are Not Pink

Decorating your baby girls nursery room and hate that the ‘cliche pink’ still sticks?

The good news is that there are so many beautiful color choices that you can consider for a little girl that can still feel pretty and girly, but equally, they’re color ideas that are unisex so perfect to commit to if you’re not going to find out the gender pre their arrival!

Soft and not stimulating in any way, take inspiration from these 20+ baby girl room ideas, without a shade of pink in sight!

21 Beautiful Baby Girl Room Ideas That Are Not Pink

1. Warm Neutral Scheme

Warm, elevated neutrals are incredibly popular in interiors right now, and the beauty of them is that they’re unisex too.

Warm taupes, sandy beiges or even elevated greys are wonderful options that are warm and ideally positioned in any nursery, no matter the aspect of the room.

The delicate, dainty wallpaper above the panelling just helps to lift the overall scheme here.

2. Delicate Wallpaper

One of my favorite ways to decorate a little girls nursery is with wallpaper! The choices are endless and you can lean into whatever color you like best.

It’s important to remember that wallpaper is artwork, so it’s totally subjective. Just choose a pattern that you personally love, and the room will work for you.

I love how the curtains have a clashing pattern for a really whimsy look.

3. Blue & Red

Forget everything you know about the stereotypes of blue. Blue and red make for one of the best combinations in a little girls bedroom, and it’s a wonderful coastal scheme to follow.

Adding a nice pop of red in some way also helps to tap into the ‘unexpected red theory’. This theory suggests that a pop of red is the magic finishing touch to pull any color scheme together in an interior.

4. Lean Into Green

Green is always a good idea because it’s the easiest color on the eye. Create more of an earthy inspired look by using a mid-deep green in an olive shade.

Wall decals are another way to add further embellishment to a room, and to avoid a painted wall looking ‘boring’.

5. Warm Terracotta Tones

Pink may be off the cards, but a lovely warm terracotta tone is perfectly suited to a little girls room, and it’s so warm and uplifting.

This color will tick all the boxes in both light and dark rooms. Layering with some tones of red as shown below really brings the warmth out in the terracotta wall paint.

6. Bright & Breezy White

A universal color that you can always count on is white! A lovely base color for a nursery, and one you can build plenty of color into, no pink required!

When choosing a shade of white, try not to have a knee jerk reaction to a bright white shade. Instead look for an off-white with a warm or cool undertone, depending on the light the room receives. It will make the room feel so much more comfortable for you, and baby to be in.

7. Include The Fifth Wall!

Including the ceiling in your design plans is the new thing! They’re no longer being left as an afterthought and they can bring some serious character and color to a nursery.

Wallpaper is a fun approach that can totally lift a nursery, just tonally match a color from the wallpaper into an accent or wall color in the room for an intentional feel.

This deep aubergine shade is a really mature approach for a baby girl room that feels cosy and sophisticated.

A color such as this would work well in a very light or sunny south facing room as it will help to temper the intensity of the sun. Team with lighter neutrals for a beautiful balance.

Yellow and white? A true match made in heaven. Butter yellow has been one of the trending interior colors of the year, and it just fits into a baby’s nursery beautifully.

Paint it in a stripe detail like the below, or purchase a wallpaper for a pre-done look that works.

A traditional, understated neutral will bring a touch of sophistication to your baby girls room, and if your interior is styled in a similar way, it will help all of the rooms to connect and speak with one another.

Grey-green based neutrals are a great choice as they’re adaptable to both light and dark conditions, and they appear like a different shade in different lights.

There’s so many different ways to do panelling these days, and they are just a fab way to add instant character to plain walls.

This wainscoting look below is traditional, but instead of painting the mouldings in the same color of the wall, they’ve been left for a unique and natural finish. If you like earthy interiors or minimalism, this is a lovely way to do it.

Yellow feels good for the soul, and there’s so many different nuances of the shade to choose from.

Now, who said pink was the only color for a girls nursery?
