6. Salt Dough Decorations

Salt dough is a lot of fun for the holidays! Double the fun with printing their hands in the dough and letting them help paint them afterwards.

To make salt dough for decorations, mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of salt, and about 3/4 to 1 cup of warm water in a bowl. Knead the dough until it’s smooth and pliable, adding a little more water if it’s too dry or more flour if it’s too sticky.

Once the dough is ready, shape it as desired, then bake the creations in an oven at 200°F (93°C) for 2-3 hours until they are completely hard. After cooling, you can paint and seal them to preserve your decorations.
